Trapped In Yemen

The film examines the human tragedy of about quarter of a million Somalis who have fled their drought-stricken and war-torn homeland to seek refuge in Yemen. No sooner do the lucky Somali refugees escape death en route to Yemen by sea than they would feel that the real suffering is yet to ensue, as the host country itself faces economic and security challenges; a situation that would surely exacerbate the plight of the refugees. The film leaves off at the point of the new suffering in the refugee camps, and attempts to either overcome the miserable conditions or adapt to them, and sometimes to flee the camps altogether in search of a better life in the heart of the country.
